Daily Report brought to you by PRO PLAN, Official Dog Food Sponsor and the Official Dog Food Supplier to the National Retriever Club of Canada.

Welcome to Day four of the National Retriever Championship.  The day is overcast and 16 degrees, much cooler than previous mornings.  The high is expected to be 19 degrees, winds are light out of the north and forecast to get up to 23 kmph this afternoon.

Test #5 is a land blind at 193 yds.  On the line is a pot hole – slew, and a row of hay bales.  The blind planters (2) are sitting in chairs, deep of the end of the blind and on the road.  The bird is placed in front of the bush, and there is a visible orange marker.  Dog to dog is approximately 3 minutes.  Male test dog “Rip” came to line at 7:40,.  The female test dog is now “Lily”, handled by Carrie Whenham.  Carrie and “Lily” came to line at 7:50, and the first running dog was at 8:00am. The plan is to get two series in today before the Workers’ Party tonight.

Today’s breakfast sponsor is the Robinson Family Foundation, and Series 5 sponsor is James Oake & Carrie Whenham in memory of “Avery”.

Today, Wednesday is all about honouring the workers!  There are so many moving parts to put on any trial, never mind a National, and it could not happen without the tireless efforts of the volunteers.  Every gun shift is manned by either a club member, competitor, spouse, family member…you name it! And it’s all coordinated by the Gun Captain.  Thank you to all those who step in to help.
